Banksy: Genius or Vandal?
June will see Lisbon hosting the first exhibition in Portugal of the works of Banksy, a controversial and mysterious artist regarded by many as a genius and by others as a vandal. Go and see it and decide for yourself.
This exhibition brings together more than 70 creations that include original works, installations, sculptures, videos and photographs, to draw us closer to Banksy’s artistic world. This British artist, whose identity remains unknown, is seen as one of the most influential creators of recent years in the contemporary art scene, surrounded by an aura of mystery that makes him a legendary figure of our time. His works are often satirical and provocative, and they tackle universal issues such as politics, culture and ethics.
This exhibition has already been shown in Moscow, St Petersburg and Madrid and seen by more than 600,000 people. The works are from private collections and are shown in Portugal with the collaboration of Lilley Fine Art/Galeria de Arte Contemporânea.
