Thermal Baths

Situated in the Beira Alta, in the peaceful rural atmosphere of the Dão valley, roughly 9 kilometres from Viseu, the spa is surrounded by a harmonious landscape of vineyards, pinewoods and apple orchards that fill the air with their scent.

One interesting particularity is the fact that some of its waters spring from cracks in the granite rocks situated on the river bed. The spa of Alcafache is a small paradise protected from the pollution and stress of city life. In an area that spreads over more than 20,000 square metres, mind and body can rest and regain their strength in the peaceful shade of the extensive pinewoods here.

As a complement to its regular activities, the spa of Alcafache, in conjunction with the Dão-Lafões Tourism Region, organises a varied programme of cultural entertainment, which includes folk dancing and singing, concerts of jazz, pop and Brazilian music, and much else besides.
