Gastronomic Festival of Bordo


From 8 to 17 November, the Gastronomic Festival of Bordo takes place in Ílhavo, Aveiro.

This event refers to the long fishing campaigns of Bacalhau (codfish) in the icy seas of the North Atlantic.

The Festival brings to this day the traditionally gastronomy produced on board the boats of distant fishing, like the famous "Chora", a soup made with the cod's head, or the "feijoada de chispe", as well as roasted beans, stewed codfish, fried codfish, among others, perfect food for hostile climates and the inhospitable seas faced by heroic fishermen.
