Quinta de Pomarchão - Casa do Espigueiro
Casa do Espigueiro is located within the grounds of Casa de Pomarchão, a 15th Century manor house 2km from the charming town of Ponte de Lima, among 60 hectares of vineyards and woodland. Guests enjoy a private garden and refreshing dips in the farm tank.
Casa de Pomarchão has been in the same family since 1480. In 1775 the original house was enriched, by Friar António do Desterro, with the chapel, the tower, and the long veranda extending along the frontal and lateral facade.
Scattered throughout the property are 3 charming cottages, individually decorated, for two or four guests, allowing for an extra bed. All cottages have living rooms, most of which with fireplaces, as well as kitchen, private bathrooms and views of the garden and countryside. I warmer days you can enjoy a refreshing dip in our farm tank, fed by pure, crystalline water from a nearby source.
Ponte de Lima is reputed to be the oldest township in Portugal, dating back 800 years. You can walk it's paved streets, sit by the legendary river of oblivion and explored the Minho region, with beautiful landscape, great food and wines, and welcoming people. A one hour drive will lead you to Gerês National Park, Porto, Braga, Guimarães or Galicia, in Spain, so it's the perfect starting point.
Only 25km away you find Viana do Castelo, charming coastal town with the river and a string of great beaches, perfect for watersports lovers. From wine tasting or golf, to rafting or canoeing, or simply resting, the Minho region has everything to offer guests a great holiday.
