The Restaurante Rocamar was opened on 13th September 1986 to fill the gap left by the closure of the Restaurante Jardim do Sol. It is a typical/regional and international restaurant that still carries on the traditions of its founder. Over the following years, the new owners have been careful to preserve the restaurant's special character. The dishes forever associated with the old restaurant are still served, and the personalised service is still the Rocamar's hallmark. Times change, tastes change, so they say. To cater for the tastes of the younger generations, there have been some changes to make the setting more attractive. The menu too has been altered, although of course the most successful dishes have been kept. You can still order the Polvo à Rocamar (octopus), Mão de Vaca com Feijoca (calf's foot with beans), Espada com Camarão (prawn kebab) and others. A visit to the restaurant is a good way to combine a pleasant atmosphere with a good meal, in fine surroundings and far away from the traffic, and to enjoy the peace and quiet provided by the proximity of the sea.
