The Barreirinha Bathing Area is located close to the oldest part of the city of Funchal, next to the Fort of São Tiago. This bathing area on the rocky coastline has a good support infrastructure, and a saltwater swimming pool for children, and access to the sea is by a series of steps or a small area of pebbles.
