In Buarcos, Beach of Tamargueira is known internationally for having the longest wave in Europe. It is a very long wave with several sections, some of them tubular which, on classic days, roll in from Cabo Mondego - this is much appreciated by surfers.
With good facilities, this beach gets quite crowded in the summer months.
