The River beach of Benfeita can be found in the centre of Benfeita, which is a schist village. The river beach is at the point where the Ribeira da Mata and Ribeira do Carcavão meet, in the municipality of Arganil. This bathing area has a sandy beach with good amenities which include a multi-purpose sports facility. It also benefits from its excellent location in the Serra do Açor, where there are other places of great beauty such as Fraga da Pena and Mata da Margaraça.
