Situated about 15km from Coimbra, in the parish of Torres de Mondego, the Palheiros & Zorro River Beach has white sand and is a highly sought after recreational area, in a zone of outstanding natural beauty. The beach has comprehensive support services which include a bar, playgrounds, a picnic area with barbecues, and it offers excellent conditions for practising a variety of activities such as kayaking, canoeing, fishing and beach volleyball. 

This river beach lies on the left bank of the River Mondego. Its main access is from the village of Palheiros, but it can also be reached from the other side via a pedestrian bridge.
