Set down among truncated cliffs, Camilo Beach, covering a moderate area of sand, is reached via a stairway involving some 200 steps. Before beginning your descent, halt to take in the stunning natural surroundings.

Close by, and reached via the same stairway, is the Ponta da Piedade, an imposing sharply contoured rock formation with its grottoes cut out by the sea. This is a regional landmark and best viewed in all its full beauty by looking inland from a boat. Excursions are also available to take you to the caves and small beaches tucked in between the rocks.
