Sintra Parks win “Design For All” award
The “Design For All” Foundation has attributed the “Sintra Parks Welcome Better” project organised by Sintra - Monte da Lua Parks with the good practices award in the category of “Spaces, products and services”. As well as Sintra Parks, another 22 candidates from several countries were in the running for this award.
The “Parques de Sintra Acolhem Melhor” (Sintra Parks Welcome Better) project intends to make it easier for the public to benefit from these kinds of amenities and make them a good example of best tourism practices, promoting equality and autonomy in access to natural and manmade patrimony.
Several improvements were made, leading to better physical access, information and services.
“Design For All” is an international non-profit foundation that aims to research, carry out and organise studies and practices of excellence with regard to inclusive design. Inclusive design means shaping environments, products and services so that everybody can benefit from them, regardless of their age, sex, abilities or education.
