Events

The Chicharro Festival has been held in Ribeira Quente since 1988, being one of the biggest festivals in the village of Povoação and the island of São Miguel. It is a very popular event among the Azorean public, attracting thousands of people from the region, but also tourists.

This year's edition brings again three days of lots of music and delicious local cuisine, with emphasis on products from the sea, with the star of the party, of course, being the chicharro, made in various ways. This year's lineup has names like Calema, Pedro Mafama, Karetus, Starlight and Deejay Telio.
