As part of the commemorations of the program "50 years in Freedom: Commemorations of the 50th anniversary of the April Revolution of 1974", this exhibition will feature 40 works by neorealist artists, belonging to the personal collection of plastic arts of Professor Hernâni Matos, a well-known collector and researcher of Alentejo Popular Culture.
The works on display, with different techniques, materials and approaches, are by 12 creators: Alice Jorge (1924-2008), Aníbal Falcato Alves (1921-1994), António Cunhal (1910-1932), Cipriano Dourado (1921-1981), Espiga Pinto (1940-2014), Jorge de Almeida Monteiro (1908-1983), Júlio Pomar (1926-2018), Júlio Resende (1917-2011), Lima de Freitas (1927-1998), Manuel Ribeiro de Pavia (1907-1957), Querubim Lapa (1925-2016), Rogério Ribeiro (1930-2008).
