Between the 23rd of May and the 31st of July 2024, the Centre for Anterian Studies of Vila do Conde celebrates the centenary of the birth of Eduardo Lourenço – professor and philosopher Portuguese – by presenting a bibliographical, active and passive exhibition of his work.

Eduardo Lourenço is the author of 11 essays on the life and work of the Azorean poet and philosopher Antero de Quental, to which this centre/museum is dedicated and which served as the writer's residence between 1881 and 1891, having been his last residence on the mainland. During his stay in Vila do Conde, he wrote a significant part of his work, inspired by the calm, bucolic and inspiring environment that the land provided him. Among these essays, one stands out, "A Hora de Vila do Conde".
