In August, Ílhavo celebrates one of the most popular products of Portuguese gastronomy, codfish. For five days, the Bacalhau Festival offers not only gastronomy, but also culture and lots of entertainment.

The Oudinot Garden becomes the stage for the party: on the water there are kayaks and surfboards, on land there are games, workshops and lots of fun, and on the Navio-Museu Santo André former crew members recall adventures on the high seas. This is the right place to learn new cod recipes, but also to taste the delicious dishes that are scattered all over the place.
