With the month of August and the warm summer nights, one of the most eagerly awaited festivals of the year arrives in Portel, in the Alentejo.

The event will take place in August and opens with the International Folklore Festival, which will once again mark the start of the festivities and bring groups from all over the world. The celebrations will then move on to Cerca de S. Paulo, with concerts and other activities. Throughout the event, the streets of Portel will come alive with various themed exhibitions, a book fair, handicrafts and regional products, the traditional taverns, where the flavors of the local gastronomy will be present with the most varied snacks and lots of entertainment.
