Events

This cineconcert brings together the work of Daniel Blaufuks with British musician Matthew Herbert, taking Eugen Schüfftan's (1893-1977) images, captured in 1940, as a starting point. The result is a portrait of everyday life - with material retrieved from ANIM (National Archive of Moving Images) - which records the moment when thousands of refugees, mainly Jews, passed through Lisbon on a silent journey to freedom.

With narration by Bruno Ganz and an original soundtrack by Herbert, known for transforming everyday sounds, the British artist creates a sound environment that amplifies the emotions of the images, giving voice to the streets, gestures and ghosts of that day suspended in time.
